Say hello to Steven & Lara Kocerka, the husband-and-wife team behind Poured Goods, a Florida-based small-batch candle company rooted in intention, giving, and the art of the slow burn. What started as a personal project during a season of change became a purpose-driven brand centered on simplicity, sustainability, and doing good — one pour at a time.
🕯️ What inspired you to start Poured Goods?
We were in the middle of a big life transition — reevaluating how we wanted to spend our time and what truly mattered. Making candles was something calming, creative, and grounding. It quickly became something more: a way to create with purpose, connect with people, and build a business that reflects our values.
💡 What’s behind the name "Poured Goods"?
It’s two-fold — of course, it’s about hand-poured candles. But it’s also about the idea of pouring goodness into everything we do: from our ingredients and packaging to the way we treat customers. We want our products to feel good and do good.
🔥 What makes your candles different?
We focus on high-quality, clean-burning candles made in small batches using coconut-soy wax, cotton wicks, and phthalate-free fragrance oils. Each scent is intentionally blended and tested by us — no outsourcing. Every candle is poured, labeled, and shipped from our home studio here in Florida.
🏡 What does "handmade" mean to you?
Handmade means everything is personal. It's small-batch, made with care, and never rushed. It's the opposite of mass-produced — and we think that difference can be felt in the final product.
✨ What scents or products are customer favorites?
Cashmere + Vanilla and Sea Salt + Orchid are definitely top sellers — they’re soft, calming, and really versatile. People also love our simple, elegant jars that fit any home aesthetic. We keep our collections intentionally limited so each scent feels curated and purposeful.
💬 Any advice for other small-batch makers?
Don’t be afraid to start small, learn as you go, and trust your gut. Every great brand begins with showing up consistently and leading with heart. And always remember the power of customer experience — it’s everything.
